Dorian

         Middle-Eastern Dance

Dorian began her journey in dance with classical ballet training, studying both Italian and Russian methods. Becoming a professional with New Mexico Ballet Company, she also studied jazz, tap, modern, character, and musical comedy. She has taught and performed ballroom dance with Arthur Murray’s School of Dance. Classic Egyptian dance commanded her attention, and she began seriously studying this, as well as Hawaiian and Tahitian. Dorian then embarked on a solo Middle-Eastern dance career in Santa Fe. Her repertoire includes: zills, fire fans, fire sword, veil, sword, fan, and bell dance. Since performing with the flamenco ensemble, Suenos Gitanos, she features Flamenco Moro in her shows, an exciting fusion of Middle-Eastern dance with Flamenco influence. Freestyle has also been a passion, performing at many raves and dance clubs. (also with fire fans and fire sword) She has performed at numerous restaurants, private functions (such as weddings and birthdays), as well as charitable events and currently offers private lessons.
